Résumé : | To examine the predictive value of childhood trauma subtypes on the psychological profiles of 152 patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (cfs), stepwise regression analyses were conducted with the outcomes of the nine Symptom Checklist (SCL-90) subscales as the dependent and the scores on the five Traumatic Experiences Checklist (TEC) subscales as the independent variables. After step-down Bonferroni correction for multiple testing, the SCL-90 subscales depression, interpersonal sensitivity, hostility and psychoneuroticism were significantly predicted by childhood trauma, with sexual harassment consistently being the best predictive factor. Childhood (sexual) trauma should be taken into consideration in the treatment and research of CFS. [résumé d'auteur] |
